Tekstilshchiki, Transportation hub in Tekstilshchiki District, Moscow, Russia
Tekstilshchiki is a transportation hub in southeastern Moscow combining a railway station and metro station in one complex. The facility connects multiple transit lines and allows passengers to transfer between different transport systems.
The metro station opened in 2023 as the newest addition to Moscow's metro network on the Bolshaya Koltsevaya line. The railway station had existed before and was modernized with the addition of the new metro connection.
The station's name comes from the textile factories that once anchored the neighborhood's identity and economy. Visitors walking through the district can still sense this industrial past in how the area is organized and built.
The facility is equipped with elevators and stairs to navigate between the different levels and platforms. Visitors should allow time for orientation since the complex has multiple entrances and transfer points.
The metro station features red and indigo colored glass panels set in aluminum frames, a design element never before used in Moscow's metro system. This colored glass treatment distinguishes the new station visually from all the older stations in the network.
