The monument is a life-size bronze figure of a lathe operator examining a manufactured part with a micrometer in his right hand. The statue stands on Titova Street in a public square within the industrial district.
The monument was unveiled on October 22, 2016, as a gift from StankoMashStroy company to the city authorities on Machine Builder's Day. It became the first and only statue in Russia dedicated to lathe operators.
The sculpture represents how the city values skilled workers and manufacturing professionals in its community. It stands as a visible reminder of the importance these professions hold in local life.
The square is accessible throughout the year and receives regular maintenance in Penza's industrial district. Visitors can easily view and photograph the monument from the street.
The model for the statue was the father of a former regional senator. This family connection shows how skilled labor runs deep in the city's local history and traditions.
