The memorial features nine artillery barrels representing the gun batteries from the Aurora cruiser positioned at the southern slope of Orekhova Mountain.
In September 1941, nine artillery crews from the Aurora cruiser defended Leningrad against German forces until they depleted their ammunition supply.
The memorial complex, designed by architect A.D. Levenkov, includes commemorative plaques displaying the names of fallen sailors and their contributions.
The memorial complex remains open to visitors throughout the year, allowing people to explore the historical site and learn about Russian naval history.
The memorial contains an original gun mount from the Aurora cruiser battery, preserved as testament to the defensive operations during World War II.
