Nagorny Park in Duderhof, Regional cultural heritage site in Krasnoye Selo, Russia.
Nagorny Park in Duderhof is a regional cultural heritage site set across the Duderhof Heights with natural slopes, walking paths, and mixed vegetation. The roughly 47-hectare landscape features varied terrain that visitors can explore through multiple routes.
The site became a park starting in 1828 after Nicholas I of Russia gave the Duderhof land to Empress Alexandra Feodorovna as a gift. The garden master shaped it into its current form over the following years.
The park was designed by garden master T.V. Grey in the nineteenth century using the landscape design principles of that era. The pathways and planted areas show how Russian landowners thought about organizing natural spaces for their enjoyment.
The park has multiple entrance points located at different spots, some near recognizable landmarks that serve as orientation guides. You can visit throughout the year since the site remains open regardless of the season.
A memorial cross sits at the top of Orehovaya Mountain, dedicated to those who defended the Duderhof Heights during past conflicts. This summit provides visitors with an elevated vantage point across the surrounding land.
