The Tikhonovsky Monastery includes a five-domed stone church dedicated to the Ascension of the Lord with two side chapels and living quarters.
The monastic community began in 1867 when the first church was constructed, marking the establishment of a spiritual center in the Lipetsk region.
The monastery maintains traditional Russian Orthodox practices, with sisters engaged in continuous reading of the Psalter and regular religious processions.
The monastery manages 200 hectares of land, operating a farm with cattle and poultry facilities to sustain the resident community of 115 sisters.
The monastery contains a sacred spring at the base of its hill, which has drawn pilgrims seeking water since the 18th century.
