Пещера Дюрк, Cave and federal cultural heritage site in Khustil, Russia.
Peschera Dyurk is a cave near Khustil that extends roughly 45 meters into the mountain and holds two accessible chambers. These rooms are connected by a wooden staircase that crosses a level difference of about 4.5 meters.
The cave originally had seven chambers, but earthquakes over the centuries sealed off five of them. Today only the two remaining rooms are open for visitors to explore.
Local people say the cave once held the sword of Maslama, an Arab commander who brought Islam to southern Dagestan. This story gives the place spiritual and historical meaning for those living nearby.
The entrance sits at about 730 meters above sea level and is reachable by a stone path. The path is located roughly 300 meters from the village of Khustil.
The first chamber has electric lighting installed, making it easy to see all the details clearly. This modern addition helps visitors explore safely and comfortably.
