Plyos State Museum-Reserve

The Plyos State Museum-Reserve extends across 78 hectares, featuring 108 architectural monuments and merchant houses from the 18th to 20th centuries along the Volga River.

The museum complex, established in 1980 and opened in 1982, preserves the architectural and landscape ensemble of Plyos that developed from the late 18th century.

The institution houses multiple exhibition spaces, including the Levitan Memorial House-Museum, Museum of Landscape, and displays of regional artistic crafts from Ivanovo Territory.

Visitors can explore 898 square meters of permanent exhibitions, with average annual attendance reaching 121,500 people across multiple museum buildings and outdoor spaces.

The museum territory encompasses eight country estates, 124 archaeological sites, and 13 natural monuments within its protected landscape zone of 20,000 hectares.
