The Assumption Church stands on Sobornaya Mountain with its white walls, golden domes, and tent-shaped bell tower added in the nineteenth century.
The original wooden structure was built following the destruction of Pleskaya Fortress in 1609, while the current brick building dates from 1699.
The cathedral demonstrates the Moscow Baroque architectural style through its structural elements and decorative features that characterize Russian Orthodox religious buildings.
The cathedral remains an active religious center where visitors can observe Eastern Orthodox ceremonies and architectural details during designated opening hours.
The bell tower of the Assumption Church received modifications during the 1800s, transforming its original design into the current tent-shaped structure.
