Bugrov villa

Bugrov villa is a brick residence built in Russian Revival style with traditional decorative details and wooden ornamentation arranged across two floors. The rooms are divided between work and living spaces, featuring preserved furnishings and fixtures from when it was first built.

Built in 1892 by a Russian industrialist, this residence served as a management center for his mill operations in the region. It became an important hub during the industrial expansion of the late 1800s.

The building now houses a regional museum displaying local artifacts and archaeological finds that tell the story of the town's growth and industrial past.

The villa sits about 60 kilometers (37 miles) west of Nizhny Novgorod and stands out easily in its surroundings. Visitors can walk through both floors to see the preserved rooms and layouts from different areas of the house.

What stands out is how the house is split into two distinct areas: the ground floor contained work spaces while the second floor held private living quarters. This arrangement reflects a common practice among wealthy merchants of that era who lived and worked under one roof.
