Мемориал Славы

The Bratsk Memorial is a monument complex featuring two large concrete structures shaped like flame petals and curved marble steles arranged on a hilltop. The marble walls are inscribed with thousands of names, creating a visual record of those who lost their lives.

This memorial was built in 1975 to mark the 30th anniversary of the war's end. Over time, more names were added during renovations to include additional fallen soldiers from the area.

This memorial grew from the need to honor those who died in World War II and remains a place where people come to remember and reflect. Local families continue to visit, searching for and connecting with the names of relatives inscribed on the marble plates.

The site sits on a hilltop with views overlooking the city and is easily accessible for visitors. It serves as a gathering point, especially during spring celebrations when people come to pay their respects.

The marble plates carry names of families whose roots run deep in Bratsk's history. These surnames like Moskovskikh, Belomestnykh, Bolsheshapovy, Vedernikovy, and Karnaukhovy link the past directly to present-day residents of the city.
