The Iveron Icon of the Mother of God Church is a church building in Russian-Byzantine style situated within the Nikolo-Perervinsky Monastery complex in Moscow. The structure displays ornamental exterior details and interior spaces designed in traditional Orthodox fashion, integrated into the larger monastery grounds.
Construction took place between 1905 and 1908 under architect Peter Vinogradov as part of the monastery expansion. This building phase reflected the development of the Nikolo-Perervinsky Monastery during the early 20th century.
The church maintains traditional Orthodox worship spaces with iconostasis and bell tower structures that visitors can observe during services. Worshippers and visitors connect with the site as a place of prayer and spiritual continuity within the monastery grounds.
Access is through the monastery grounds located on hospital property, so advance notification is necessary before visiting. Visitors should check in with staff and coordinate timing with the monastery complex's schedule.
Artist Ivan Sokolov created the original interior and exterior decorations in intricate detail when the building was completed. Iconographer Vasily Guryanov later refined these works, adding additional artistic layers to the religious space.
