Sollentuna Church, Medieval church in Norrviken, Sweden

Sollentuna Church is a stone building in Sollentuna Municipality built using rubble masonry construction. The structure displays architectural elements from different historical periods, and it is accompanied by an adjacent cemetery that frames the building.

The building was established around 1100 and is one of the oldest religious structures in the area. Over the centuries, various architectural changes were made, and these modifications remain visible today in the different style elements throughout the building.

The church displays a runic inscription that shows how ancient Norse writing systems were integrated into religious architecture. You can still see this inscription today and experience how it preserves the connection between pre-Christian and Christian times.

The church is located at Kyrkvägen 2 and remains active as a place of worship managed by Svenska Kyrkan. Visitors should be aware that this is an active religious site and respect any ongoing activities.

The building holds the status of both an individually protected monument and a heritage ensemble, which underscores its special importance in local architectural history. This dual classification shows how the church is valued both as a standalone work and as part of a larger whole.
