Sjöholm

Sjöholm is a three-story manor house featuring six bedrooms, several reception rooms, a grand entrance hall, and two living rooms that open onto a spacious kitchen. The building sits within an estate that also includes a working farm, golf course, hotel, marina, and vacation rental units.

The estate originated in the 13th century and received its current form in the early 1840s when architect Carl Christoffer Gjörwell redesigned it. This reconstruction gave the property the neoclassical appearance it maintains today.

The interior shows how Swedish nobility decorated their homes, with furnishings and objects from the 18th century that reflect their tastes and daily life. Walking through the rooms reveals the choices they made about beauty and comfort.

The estate operates as a multipurpose destination where visitors can stay overnight, play golf, enjoy the waterfront, or attend various events. This combination of activities appeals to different interests and makes it suitable for various types of visits.

The kitchen preserves handcrafted details including antique pewter pieces displayed on shelves and walls decorated with locally created marble painting techniques. These hand-finished elements show the care taken in the service areas of the home.
