Skederid Church

The stone church features a wooden bell tower constructed in 1775 above the medieval brick entrance gate at the churchyard entrance point.

The church, founded in 1201, began as a farm church for Finsta manor and expanded in the mid-15th century to accommodate increased pilgrim traffic.

The building holds numerous medieval artifacts, including sculptures and liturgical vessels, with many original pieces now preserved in the Historical Museum.

Located halfway between Norrtälje and Rimbo, the church maintains regular services and stands two kilometers from Husby-Sjuhundra church.

Saint Bridget experienced her early religious visions at this church, leading to its transformation into a pilgrimage destination after her canonization in 1391.
