Särna gammelkyrka

Särna gammelkyrka is a traditional rural Swedish church with a distinctive wooden tower that rises above the surrounding forests. The building features simple timber construction set on stone foundations alongside its adjoining cemetery.

The parish received royal support in 1684 to construct this building, which served the growing local population. A roof fire in 1856 caused significant damage that left it unused for almost a century before restoration work brought it back into service.
