Villa Sagatun, Nordic-style residential villa in Hägersten, Sweden.
Villa Sagatun stands on elevated stone foundations with horizontal timber on the ground floor and post-beam construction on the upper level.
Gustaf and Anna Retzius commissioned the construction of Villa Sagatun in 1881 as their summer residence on one of the highest points in Hägersten.
The name Sagatun translates to 'Saga's holy place', referring to Norse mythology and reflecting the building's architectural style with dragon motifs and ornate decorations.
The residential building features multiple balconies, verandas, and arc-shaped windows, with the main gathering space located in the upper floor's high loft hall.
The Ekmans Mechanical Carpentry Factory constructed Villa Sagatun as a modified replica of Carl Curman's villa at the Lysekil bathing facility.
