Forsemölla

Forsemölla is a waterfall that drops through steep rock faces and sits within a nature reserve surrounded by beech forests and gentle hills. The Rörums Södra Å river flows through this protected area, which has diverse plant and animal life.

The site began in the 14th century when people built a mill system on the river to use its power. This mill system operated alongside other facilities nearby and remained important to the local economy for generations.

The old mill remains show how important water power was to rural life in this region. People relied on the river's force to do their work and process grain for daily needs.

A marked circular trail of about 1.5 kilometers starts from the Sträntemölla parking area and leads through the nature reserve to the waterfall. The path is generally easy to walk, though some sections become steeper closer to the waterfall itself.

The waters around the waterfall are home to several species of rare caddisflies that normally live in clean, cool rivers. These small insects signal that the water quality here is good and the river remains in a natural state.
