Marina Bay Sands, Luxury hotel in Downtown Core, Singapore
Marina Bay Sands is a multistorey hotel building in central Singapore, made up of three tall towers connected by a shared platform at the top. The towers rise above the bay waterfront and form a distinct silhouette visible from many parts of the city.
The resort was built between 2006 and 2010 and ranked among the largest construction projects in the city during that decade. Its opening introduced a new type of mixed-use development to the downtown area and significantly altered the skyline along the bay.
The complex draws visitors who come to dine, shop or attend performances, while locals often stop by to stroll along the waterfront promenade. The nearby lotus-shaped museum hosts rotating exhibitions that combine science and design, appealing equally to families and school groups.
The site includes shops, restaurants and event spaces reachable on foot from Bayfront metro station. The upper platform offers views over the city, with access open to guests and paying visitors.
The rooftop holds a long swimming pool with an open edge that hovers about 200 meters above ground. Swimmers can look out over the cityscape while they float in the water.
