Underwater World, Singapore, Public aquarium in Sentosa, Singapore
Underwater World is a public aquarium located on Sentosa island. Visitors walk through glass tunnels while sharks, rays and schools of tropical fish swim directly above their heads.
The aquarium opened in 1991 and grew into a major marine education center in Southeast Asia. Over more than three decades, millions of people visited the facility and learned about different ocean habitats.
The facility maintains educational programs focused on marine biology research, connecting Singaporean students and international visitors with ocean conservation initiatives.
The facility sits within Resorts World Sentosa and offers guided tours in several languages. Special zones are designed for younger children and allow them to interact with shallow pools.
The aquarium schedules evening feedings for nocturnal species, allowing visitors to observe natural behaviors under dim lighting. These presentations show animals in their active phases and offer insights not visible during daytime visits.
