Kranji Marshes Park, Nature reserve in northwestern Singapore.
Kranji Marshes Park is a nature reserve with wetlands, grasslands, and secondary forests along a reservoir in northwestern Singapore. The area covers more than 56 hectares and is home to hundreds of bird species, butterflies, and dragonflies.
The area came into existence in the 1970s when a reservoir was built, transforming agricultural land into wetland habitats. This change created refuge for the diverse animal populations now found there.
The area draws visitors interested in watching birds through dedicated observation hides at Marsh Station, where both resident and migrating species can be seen in their natural habitat. These spots are designed to bring people closer to local wildlife.
The reserve is open during daylight hours with trails connecting different viewing areas throughout the grounds. An elevated tower provides wide views across the wetlands and helps visitors reach higher observation points.
A tall observation tower allows views across the entire wetland landscape from a single vantage point. From this tower, visitors often see more species in one visit than they would expect from a typical reserve.
