Pivka Park of Military History

Pivka Park of Military History sits on a former barracks ground and displays tanks, planes, artillery, and other military equipment spanning multiple centuries. The collection covers machines and devices used across different historical periods.

The site started as an Italian border fortress built between the World Wars and later housed Yugoslav and Slovenian military forces. In 2004 the old barracks became a museum.

The park displays weapons and vehicles that show how military conflicts shaped life in this region over time. Visitors can see how these objects connected to the everyday experiences of soldiers and civilians.

You can walk around the grounds on your own or join guided tours available in several languages. The museum has parking for cars and buses, and some areas may have limited access depending on the season.

The park contains a complete Yugoslav Una-class submarine named Zeta, which serves as a centerpiece among the vehicles on display. This submarine is one of the few preserved examples of its kind and attracts visitors interested in naval engineering.
