Veľký Inovec, Mountain summit in Zlaté Moravce District, Slovakia.
Veľký Inovec is a mountain peak reaching 900.6 meters and the highest summit in the Pohronský Inovec range located in central Slovakia. The landscape features forests and field roads that lead through the area toward the top.
The mountain became recognized as a natural monument in 1992, receiving protected geological formation status in the Nitriansky region. This designation established its importance as a protected natural site in the area.
The ridge trail Rudná magistrála passes through this summit, connecting several villages and serving as a long-established hiking route for people in the area. Locals have used this path for generations to move between communities.
Hikers can begin their trek from the Stará Huta bus stop and follow a moderate trail through forests and field roads. The hike takes around five to six hours to reach the summit from this starting point.
The andesite rock formations create varied landscapes that become visible as you ascend the mountain. From the summit, views extend over the Tekov region and the winding course of the Hron River.
