Mueang Phetchaburi

Mueang Phetchaburi is an administrative district in western Thailand that spreads across the Phetchaburi River valley and comprises multiple subdistricts. The area mixes urban centers with extensive farmland and serves as the provincial capital seat.

The district was established in 1903 and initially centered in Khlong Krachaeng subdistrict before expanding to become the province's administrative heart. This growth shaped the region over more than a century.

The district centers around traditional Thai markets where vendors sell regional specialties, handcrafted goods, and fresh produce from surrounding farms. These markets reflect how locals live and connect with their land through daily trade.

The area is easiest to navigate using the Phetchaburi River as your guide and visiting the different local markets and subdistricts. Conditions are best during cooler months when weather is more pleasant for walking around.
