Phu Wiang National Park, National park in Khon Kaen Province, Thailand
The park extends over 325 square kilometers of mountainous terrain, featuring a horseshoe-shaped range with peaks reaching 844 meters above sea level.
A uranium prospector discovered fossilized remains of a 15-meter-long herbivorous sauropod in 1976, leading to the park's establishment in December 1991.
Scientists named the discovered dinosaur species Phuwianggosaurus sirindhornae to honor both the district and Princess Sirindhorn of Thailand.
Visitors can reach the park by taking Highway 12 west from Khon Kaen city and following signs north on Highway 2038 through Phu Wiang town.
The park contains multiple excavation sites where researchers found five new dinosaur species, including Siamotyrannus, an early relative of Tyrannosaurus Rex.
