Art Centre Khon Kaen University

The Art Centre is a modern art museum on the Khon Kaen University campus with exhibition spaces across two floors and natural lighting throughout the galleries. The rooms display both permanent collections and rotating exhibitions that showcase different forms of artistic expression.

The space was created to document and foster the development of the modern art scene in the northeast region. Since its founding, it has grown into an important venue for contemporary artistic dialogue in the region.

The center regularly displays works by artists from the northeast region who reinterpret traditional themes such as the Phra Wessandorn story through contemporary approaches. The exhibited pieces blend ancient motifs with modern techniques and reflect the artistic identity of the Isan region.

The venue sits on the university grounds and is easy to reach even if you are unfamiliar with the area. Visitors should allow enough time to view all exhibitions and explore the building's architecture at a comfortable pace.

The center maintains a special collection of paintings depicting Bun Pawes ceremonies, a traditional ritual unique to the Isan people. These works are rarely displayed elsewhere and offer insight into local customs that many visitors have not encountered before.
