Wat Komet Rattanaram

Wat Komet Rattanaram is a Buddhist temple in Chiang Rak Noi featuring traditional Thai architecture with numerous statues, including a 22-meter-long Ganesh figure and Chinese-influenced decorative elements. The grounds encompass a wide array of religious artworks and monuments spanning multiple spiritual traditions.

The temple was founded during the late Ayutthaya period and gained regional importance after 1767 under King Taksin's reign. This era shaped its development as a significant religious center in the area.

The temple blends Thai Buddhist and Hindu traditions, with different deities like Ganesh, Guan Yin, Indra, and Brahma worshipped across distinct areas of the grounds. Visitors can observe how these varied spiritual paths coexist peacefully within one sacred space.

The temple sits roughly 90 kilometers from central Bangkok and is reachable by train to Chachoengsao Junction Railway Station followed by a local taxi to the grounds. Visitors should wear comfortable shoes and be prepared for unpaved paths, as the extensive grounds invite exploration on foot.

The grounds contain a replica of Myanmar's famous Golden Rock with a small pagoda believed to house a hair of Buddha. This distinctive feature makes the temple a place where multiple countries and spiritual traditions are honored.
