Göksu Waterfall

Göksu Waterfall is a natural cascade that drops about 20 meters from rocky terrain, flowing into a tributary of the Kızılırmak river. The site displays layered rock formations that have developed through years of water erosion and geological processes.

The waterfall's water flow was reduced in the 1980s when a hydroelectric plant was built to supply power to the Kayseri region. This engineering project permanently altered the natural water cycle at the site.

The waterfall serves as a gathering spot where local people enjoy outdoor activities and connect with the natural landscape throughout the year.

You can reach the waterfall by following a marked trail from Sızır village, with photography areas and rest spots placed along the way. Water flow varies by season, so plan your visit according to the time of year.

Underground springs run through the area, creating geological structures formed by the interaction between spring water and natural landslide deposits. These hidden water systems continue to shape the landscape above ground.
