Şahruh Bridge

The Şahruh Bridge is a stone structure that crosses the Kızılırmak River in Kayseri Province, consisting of multiple arches that span the riverbed. The construction displays typical medieval stonework with large stone elements fitted together to support the crossing.

The bridge was built during Shahruh's reign in the Dulkadirid Dynasty and served as an important infrastructure project of that era. A century later, it underwent major renovation work that stabilized its structure and extended its functional life.

The bridge represents Ottoman engineering methods and stands as a testament to the architectural capabilities of the Dulkadirid period in Turkish history.

The bridge is located in the Sarıoğlan area and provides a direct crossing for both pedestrians and vehicles traversing the valley. Access is straightforward from both sides, and the surface is walkable, though it is helpful to watch for slippery conditions during wetter months.

The structure maintains its original function after five centuries, demonstrating the durability of medieval Turkish bridge construction techniques.
