Kayseri Clock Tower

The stone structure rises 20 meters high in the center of the square, featuring four clock faces visible from different directions.

The tower was built in 1906 under Governor Haydar Bey's direction, following Sultan Abdulhamid II's mandate to construct clock towers across the Ottoman Empire.

The tower combines Ottoman architectural elements with early 20th-century design principles, reflecting the period's transition in Turkish architecture.

Located in the central district, the clock tower remains accessible 24 hours a day and serves as a meeting point for residents and visitors.

Master builder Tavlusunlu Salih Usta incorporated local stone materials into the construction, creating a structure that marks time for over a century.
