Tongxiao Township

Tongxiao extends over 107 square kilometers between the Taiwan Strait and mountainous regions, comprising 24 villages with distinct characteristics and local communities.

The settlement patterns of Tongxiao evolved from indigenous Taokas groups to Han Chinese immigrants during the mid-17th century, leading to territorial development.

The township maintains strong connections to Hakka heritage through regional festivities, traditional practices, and agricultural production, including the cultivation of strawberries.

Visitors reach Tongxiao via National Freeways 1 and 3, with three Taiwan Railway Administration stations serving the area: Tongxiao, Baishatun, and Xinpu.

The Taiyen Tongxiao Tourism Factory demonstrates salt production methods while the Flying Cow Ranch offers agricultural education programs to regional visitors.
