Donetsk High Military Political School of Engineering and Communication Forces, sovětská vojenská škola
Donetsk High Military Political School of Engineering and Communication Forces was an institution that trained future officers in technical military disciplines. The facility included classrooms, training grounds, and equipment where cadets spent four years learning engineering systems and communication technology.
The school was established in 1967 during the Soviet era and became a key training center for technical officers. After the Soviet Union collapsed in 1991, it transitioned to Ukraine's military system while maintaining its focus on engineering and communications training until it closed in 1995.
The school served as a gathering place for young people committed to military service. Daily routines, parades, and group activities within its buildings and grounds shaped how cadets connected with each other and understood their role in the armed forces.
The school grounds are located in an industrial area of Donetsk and are not generally open to public visits. The site consists of former military buildings and training fields that have been repurposed for other uses since the school closed.
The school celebrated its founding anniversary every year on June 16 with special ceremonies and events. The institution was notably known for maintaining a choir that gained regional recognition through performances.
