Brodick Castle, Category A listed castle in North Ayrshire, Scotland
The stone fortress stands on the eastern coast of the Isle of Arran, featuring formal gardens, woodland paths, and a Victorian architectural design.
The current structure dates from 1510, serving as a military stronghold during conflicts before becoming the ancestral residence of the Duke of Hamilton.
The interior contains collections of period furniture, silverware, porcelain, paintings, and sporting trophies representing Scottish aristocratic life through centuries.
The castle grounds include a walled garden from 1710, adventure play area for children, and multiple trails leading through gardens and forests.
The castle appears on Royal Bank of Scotland twenty-pound notes since 1972, featuring its recognizable baronial architecture against the Scottish landscape.
