Beinn Tarsuinn is a mountain in North Ayrshire that rises to about 826 meters. Two main ridges descend from the summit toward Glen Rosa, creating distinct pathways that mountaineers can follow.
The summit served as a navigation landmark for local communities from the early settlement period onward. Its position in the landscape helped travelers find their way through North Ayrshire.
The name derives from Scottish Gaelic, meaning 'transverse hill', reflecting the traditional language heritage preserved in geographical features across Scotland.
Access begins from Glen Rosa where marked trails head toward the summit. Walkers can choose between the eastern and western ridge routes depending on their experience level.
A rocky ridge formation known as A' Chìr connects this summit to the neighboring peak of Cìr Mhòr. This dramatic link offers an exciting challenge for experienced hikers.
