Dawlish

Dawlish is a seaside town in Devon on England's southwestern coast, where a sandy beach stretches along the waterfront. Red cliffs rise behind the buildings, and a railway line runs directly beside the shore.

The railway built by Isambard Kingdom Brunel in 1846 transformed the fishing village into a popular 19th-century resort. The infrastructure made it easy for people from inland areas to reach the coast.

Black swans from Australia live in the stream flowing through the central gardens and are part of daily life here. You will see them swimming whenever you walk through this green space.

The town is easy to explore on foot, with the railway station and beach close together and plenty of cafes and shops nearby. Most areas are flat and accessible, making it simple to get around.

The railway line runs directly along the sea wall, making it one of England's most exposed coastal rail routes. During storms, the track can even be flooded by waves.
