Dawlish, Coastal town in Teignbridge, England

The sandy beach stretches along the Devon coastline, with red cliffs rising behind the town and a railway line running parallel to the shore.

The construction of Brunel's South Devon Railway in 1846 transformed Dawlish from a fishing village into a Victorian seaside destination for tourists.

Black swans, introduced from Western Australia, swim in the brook that flows through the central landscaped gardens known as The Lawn.

The town center contains numerous independent shops, cafes, and restaurants within walking distance of the beach and railway station.

The railway line runs directly along the sea wall, making it one of the most exposed coastal rail routes in England.
