G Force, Steel roller coaster at Drayton Manor Resort, Tamworth, England
G Force was a steel roller coaster at Drayton Manor Resort where riders were suspended upside down before traveling through multiple inversions. The ride used a specialized lift system that hoisted passengers into the air and then sent them into fast, twisting movements.
The coaster opened in 2005 as one of the first of its kind worldwide. It operated until 2018 when it closed due to maintenance needs.
The opening ceremony included performances by the British classical crossover group G4, marking the transformation from its initial designation as Project X.
Accessing the coaster required visitors to prepare for an intense ride experience, as it was quite demanding. Special restraint systems were used to keep passengers secure during the fast movements.
This X-Car design incorporated a humpty-bump lift system followed by an immelman loop and bent Cuban eight configuration through its course.
