Mill Hill East tube station, London Underground station
Mill Hill East tube station is a London Underground stop in the London Borough of Barnet located at street level. The station has a straightforward layout with a single platform, a modest station building, and serves as the terminal for this branch of the Northern Line.
The station opened in 1867 as part of the Edgware, Highgate and London Railway connecting rural areas to London. It was renamed Mill Hill East in 1928 for clarity, and was upgraded with electric trains in the 1940s after a temporary closure.
The station is easily accessible by local buses and walking paths leading to nearby residential areas. Security cameras and help points are available on-site, and step-free access has been installed for people with mobility needs.
With just over 1 million passengers yearly, this is the least busy station on the Northern Line. On match days, special shuttle buses run to transport fans to the nearby Saracens Rugby Club stadium.
