Shuttleworth Collection, Aviation museum in Old Warden, England
Shuttleworth Collection is an aviation museum with six large hangars filled with aircraft, vintage vehicles, and agricultural machinery spanning more than a century of history. The hangars display items from different time periods, offering a broad view of how transportation and farming changed over the years.
Richard Shuttleworth founded the collection in the 1930s, gathering and restoring historical aircraft at Old Warden Park until his death in 1940. The collection was preserved after his passing and continues to exist today.
The collection displays aircraft from different eras, showing how flying machines changed and improved over many decades. Visitors can observe how design and construction methods varied depending on when each plane was built.
The museum offers extended hours from February through October, and admission tickets remain valid for thirty days. Plan your visit during the open season and be aware that special events may affect ticket validity.
Engineers and specialists keep every aircraft in working condition, allowing visitors to watch real flights with planes from different decades. These flying demonstrations happen regularly and let you see the machines not just sitting still but actually in action.
