Thruxton Circuit, Motorsport racing track in Hampshire, England
Thruxton Circuit is a motorsport racing track in Hampshire, England, that stretches 3.79 kilometers (2.36 miles) and combines fast straights with technical corners. The facility also includes karting tracks, off-road courses, and a driving experience center with high-performance sports cars.
The site served as RAF Thruxton from 1942 and was used by the Royal Air Force and United States Army Air Forces during World War II and the Normandy landings. The British Automobile Racing Club relocated here in 1968 after leaving Goodwood Racing Circuit and transformed the airfield runway into a racing track.
The track still carries traces of its military origins, and the old airfield runway now forms part of the fastest straight in Britain for racing cars. Visitors often notice the open landscape and wide skies that recall its former use as a military airfield.
The facility offers driving experiences in high-performance vehicles such as the Lamborghini Huracan and Lotus Emira for visitors who want to feel what racing is like. Karting tracks and off-road courses provide additional options for drivers of all experience levels on different days.
Due to local regulations, the track may only hold twelve racing days per year, split evenly between motorcycle and automobile competitions. This restriction makes each race day a special event for spectators and drivers alike.
