Bangor Mountain, Hill summit in Gwynedd, Wales
Bangor Mountain is a 117-meter hill in Gwynedd with mixed woodlands, open grassland, and rocky slopes scattered across its face. St. Deiniol's Golf Club occupies much of the summit area and shapes how the hilltop looks and functions.
During the late 19th century, marked paths were created on the north-facing slope to develop the location as a recreational destination for visitors. This development opened the hill to the wider public as a leisure spot.
The St Deiniol's Golf Club occupies a large portion of the mountain's crest, offering a linear course that intersects with several local lanes.
Several trails lead to viewpoints overlooking Puffin Island, Great Orme, and the Menai Strait for those wanting to look at the water. Parking is available near the base of the hill.
The northern side is steep and densely wooded, meaning this flank receives minimal direct sunlight during certain months. This creates a markedly different character from the more open areas around it.
