St Mary's Church, Widnes

St Mary's Church is a Gothic Revival structure built from red sandstone and topped with a square tower. The interior features pointed arches, windows in medieval style, and stone pillars that support a decorative ribbed vault overhead.

This building was designed and completed in the early 1900s by a prominent architectural firm working in England. The structure represents the Gothic Revival approach that was popular among religious buildings of that era.

The interior contains oak furnishings and stained glass windows depicting biblical scenes that shape the appearance of the worship space. This craftsmanship gives the place a solemn character.

The church is located along a main road in West Bank and is easy to reach on foot. Visitors should check ahead since regular services are held and access may be limited during those times.

Built into the boundary wall is an unusual feature: an octagonal preaching pulpit that can be reached by steps and displays a biblical inscription. This element was once used to share messages with passersby.
