111 Piccadilly, High-rise office building near Piccadilly Station, Manchester, England
111 Piccadilly is an 18-story office building standing next to Manchester Piccadilly Station with a height of about 64 meters (210 feet). Eight large support columns run beneath it spanning the Rochdale Canal, and the interior provides serviced offices, meeting rooms, bike storage, and shower facilities.
This office tower opened in 1965 under its original name Rodwell Tower, designed by architect Douglas Stephen & Partners. Its construction above the existing canal required special engineering techniques to create a stable foundation.
The building functions as a major workplace hub in the city center, drawing both long-established firms and newer enterprises. It shapes how the local business community uses and moves through this part of Manchester.
The building offers 24-hour access for tenants and sits directly next to the train station, making it easy to visit or arrive by public transportation. Its location allows visitors to reach other main areas of the city with minimal travel.
A notable feature is the 61-meter photovoltaic lighting installation covering three sides of the building. This system includes embedded sensors that continuously monitor local air quality and the building's energy use.
