The Nature Discovery Centre provides visitor facilities including bird watching hides, walking trails, a cafe, toilets, and a shop selling binoculars and bird food.
The reservoir supports the only tree-nesting colony of cormorants in Britain, established in 1981 with approximately 360 nesting pairs.
