Airthrey Castle, Country house at Bridge of Allan, Scotland

The stone castle stands at the center of a 330-acre parkland campus within the University of Stirling grounds above the Forth valley.

Robert Adam designed this Category B listed building in 1791 for evangelist Robert Haldane, whose family acquired the estate in 1759.

The building transformed from a private residence to a maternity hospital during World War II before becoming part of the University of Stirling.

The castle now functions as the administrative center and international study center for the University of Stirling, maintaining its educational purpose.

Two standing stones on the grounds mark a possible battlefield where King Kenneth I defeated the Picts to unite Scotland in 839.
