Dumyat

Dumyat is a summit in the Ochil Hills standing at 418 meters with several walking routes leading up its slopes. The terrain offers different pathways through grassland and moorland to reach the top.

The name comes from Gaelic 'Dùn Mhèad', reflecting the ancient Scottish language heritage of this region. This linguistic connection points to the long presence of Gaelic-speaking people in these hills.

The summit holds importance as a gathering place where walkers from the area spend time outdoors throughout the year. It serves as a natural meeting point for those exploring the Ochil Hills on foot.

Several starting points with parking areas are available around the base, giving visitors flexibility in choosing their approach route. Consider the weather and ground conditions, as trails can be wet and muddy after rain.

Just below the summit, a distinct rock outcrop sits in the northwestern area near the cairn. Most visitors pass without noticing this small geological feature as they focus on reaching the top.
