Broomhall Castle

Broomhall Castle is a country house with three floors and a square tower positioned on a hillside overlooking the village of Menstrie in Clackmannanshire. Following renovation in 2023, it now operates as a hotel with 17 rooms, providing accommodation and dining services to guests.

The property was built in 1874 for mill owner James Johnstone and went through several functions, shifting from an Italian Riding School to a preparatory school. A fire in 1940 destroyed the building, reducing it to ruins before it was eventually restored.

The grounds feature two Giant Redwood trees, a rare botanical species in the British landscape that visitors notice while walking the property. These towering specimens shape the appearance of the surroundings and stand out as a distinctive natural element of the place.
