Abney Park Chapel, Grade II listed church in Stoke Newington, London, England.
The Gothic chapel stands at the center of Abney Park Cemetery, featuring a 120-foot steeple and cruciform design with an upper gallery accessed by wooden staircases.
Built between 1838 and 1840, architect William Hosking created this structure as the first non-denominational cemetery chapel in Europe, combining Romanesque and Gothic elements.
The chapel represents religious inclusivity through its architectural design, serving all Christian denominations without distinction in an era marked by religious separation.
The restored venue accommodates 70 people across two levels and functions as a space for ceremonies, exhibitions, and educational events without kitchen facilities.
The chapel grounds contain an alphabetically arranged arboretum of 2,500 plant varieties, creating a botanical encyclopedia within the cemetery landscape.
