Auchans Castle, Category A listed castle in Dundonald, South Ayrshire, Scotland.

The three-story stone castle features a square balustraded stair-tower, large dormers, string courses, corbels, and a Gothic window in the south gable.

Built in 1644, the castle changed ownership between the Wallace, Cochrane, and Montgomerie families before falling into disrepair by the late nineteenth century.

The castle gardens were the origin point of the Auchans pear variety, which spread throughout Scotland and traced its roots to French cultivation.

The castle structure remains at risk since 1992, with vegetation growth limiting access and visibility during external preservation assessment visits.

Samuel Johnson and James Boswell visited Lady Susanna Montgomery, the Dowager Countess of Eglinton, at Auchans Castle in 1773.
