Wellwood House, Category B listed clubhouse in Irvine, Scotland

Wellwood House stands at 28 Eglinton Street and features a distinctive bow window on its facade. The building contains several rooms across two floors that function today as spaces for the club's activities.

The house was built in 1904 for the Paterson family and received its heritage designation in 1997 from the relevant authorities. The Paterson brothers bequeathed the property to Irvine Burns Club in 1955, establishing its current purpose.

The Directors' Room holds chairs given by founding members during the club's centenary celebration in 1926, showing the connection to local organizational life. These pieces remain as reminders of those who shaped this place.

The building is organized with multiple rooms suited for different kinds of gatherings and events. Visitors should check opening times in advance and familiarize themselves with the layout when they arrive.

When the Paterson brothers transferred the property in 1955, they imposed specific conditions to ensure continuity for the household staff. This clause was unusual for its time and reveals the family's personal attachment to the place.
