Battleby, Category B listed house in Redgorton, Scotland.

The red sandstone Battleby House stands on elevated grounds, featuring a two-story structure designed by architect David Smart between 1861 and 1863.

During World War I, the property transformed into a hospital, and in 1947 Sir Alexander Cross purchased it and established an extensive plant collection.

The house reflects the architectural influence of Alexander Thomson through its design elements and represents the evolution of Scottish country estates.

Located 6 kilometers north of Perth and accessible via the A9 road, Battleby now functions as offices for Scottish Natural Heritage.

The estate's name originates from the Battle of Luncarty, a contested historical conflict between Scots and Danes in 990 near the property.
