Balhousie Castle, Military museum in Perth, Scotland
The castle houses exhibits, artifacts, and memorabilia from The Black Watch Regiment, featuring detailed displays across multiple exhibition spaces within its stone walls.
Built in 1631 as a residence for the Earls of Kinnoull, the castle underwent reconstruction in 1862 by architect David Smart into its present Scottish Baronial style.
The castle maintains a collection of military uniforms, weapons, medals, and photographs that demonstrate the Black Watch Regiment's service from 1739 to present day.
The museum includes a café serving local specialties, a gift shop with Scottish items, and offers guided tours explaining the history of The Black Watch Regiment.
The Frank Feller painting 'No Surrender' depicts the Battle of Magersfontein from 1899, showcasing a significant moment during the Second Boer War.
